This weeks finds me making a stop at the very popular Sunshine Tour event here in Yeppoon for the $100000 Pat O'Driscoll Pro Am. It has been running for years up here and is a major highlight on the Sunshine Tours calendar!
This year sees an awesome field vying for the top spot as there are breaks in Asia and Japan meaning lots of guys are back home and ready to play. The quality is such that a lot of the 80 or so players will play in the much bigger events on the Australiasian Tour throughout the summer.
I am using this week as a great warm up for a Japanese Tour event next week. Don't get me wrong I am still trying to finish as high as possible but certainly I am trying a few things out too. My left handed putter is the only putter I have brought with me so it forces me to just commit to using it.
It has been really good actually as I haven't felt this comfortable on the greens for a very long time. The left handed method is feeling better than ever and actually almost natural!
It has kind of been a little bit of an unveiling of my putting this week as most of the guys playing haven't seen me doing it. It's funny to see their reactions to seeing someone they have seen putt right handed now staying on the other side of the ball.
On the golf front I am 2 under par through the two rounds and am looking forward to the weekend rounds to again putt this putting into practice. Will check in tomorrow night!!!
