A big hi to everyone and I hope everyone has had a fantastic festive season full of fun with family and friends!!
After finishing Q School the Friday before Christmas I was certainly ready for a well deserved break. My clubs went into the garage for their annual hibernation during the Christmas season. This year was slightly different as I had some new gear arrive from Japan to test and if may have some news in this department in the coming weeks.
So with the clubs safely gathering dust I set about some quality time with my awesome family. I had a great time celebrating Christmas and as most of you know I am a Christian so it is always a special time for me and my family.
New Years was also cool this year with my two boys making it to midnight for the first time!! We celebrated with friends and welcomed in the new year with great anticipation for what lies ahead!!
I have set some serious goals for this year both on and off the course which is really exciting and will require some serious commitment and effort if I am to achieve them. At the same time should I achieve them I will have a great year and it will be a very rewarding one!! One of my off course goals for the year is to do a triathlon. Now for someone who runs and rides a lot, you would think that isn't much of a goal but I swim like a brick!! I have a super coach though with some serious work ahead of her to be able to get me up to the standard required so that I don't drown out there. She has great motivation as she is my wife and I'm sure wants me around for a while longer, well I think she does anyway!!
On course I can't wait to have another serious crack at the Japanese Tour this year and am changing my practice structure around and making some serious changes to my game to hopefully bring far more consistent results and give me a better chance of challenging for a win this year.
My year competitively kicks off traditionally at the Qld PGA in Toowoomba in the second week of Feb followed by the Vic Open in Geelong and then the Nz Open in Queenstown to complete three weeks in a row to start my year. I can't wait to get back into things, my practice has been really encouraging so far.
I look forward to sharing what will be a great year ahead and thank you all for your support so far and in the future!
