The wonderful Kalgoorlie Golf Club is hosting us this week for the Wa PGA champs. It is a brilliant golf course that is set in the red desert country here in the west.
I would highly recommend every golf lover to come and visit this place for a game as I think it is one of the best courses in Australia.
Today was a long day, a storm rolled through this morning forcing players from the course meaning my start was delayed by some 90 mins. Eventually at 1:15pm I got out there.
I struggled from. The first tee shot all day long. I had zero rhythm today and hit very few good shots. Basically it was a massive struggle in the very hot and windy conditions. It was testing and I was soundly beaten out there today. The positive was that I hung in there all day and managed to grind out 2 over par when I saw more red desert than the Paris to Dakar rally drivers! Maybe that is why is was so hot out there, instead of being on the green oasis carefully planned by the course designer I was in the desert looking for water. In fact I am surprised I didn't find any gold out there today I was that far into the wilderness!
I raced up to the range at the end of my round in fading light to see if I could find some form before tomorrow.....I did I think. Only time will tell but I am looking forward to the morning!
