It has been a pretty solid couple of days here at the Tina golf club for the first two days of the event.
The wind has managed to stay away around this island course and subsequently the scores have been very good. The cut this year was at 2 over and that is the lowest cut I can remember here. Part of that is the lack of wind but also the softness of the course meaning it is target golf, is having a massive part to play also.
The leader going into the weekend is Adam Stephens, and he has a 2 shot lead at 11 under par. That is very solid golf indeed and if he can repeat that over the weekend he will be hard to run down.
I have played really well so far to be at 7 under par and in a tie for 5th position at the moment. I have hit 2 bad tee shots this tournament and unfortunately I copped the full penalty of two double bogies for them!! Not fun when you play so well and you just miss a shot and get a full penalty. My mindset this week however hasn't let that bother me and any time I have made a bogie or a double, which is 4 times only this week, I have birdied the very next hole!
I am loving the freedom I have in the game, certainly a few weeks with health concerns and a good, very good book, have really helped me understand Matt Guyatt and life a little more. I have been believing some rubbish and it has been nice to bury some of that junk and realise that there is way more to life than golf and that golf is just a game! It has no significance in my eternal destiny. It is great to go out there and enjoy being Matt Guyatt and enjoy the shot making adventure that everyday brings. I look forward to the next two days and all that will come my way!!
