Two years ago when I played here I stayed with some members from the course and I didn't get to see hardly any of the beach or the ocean. I didn't think the place was that amazing but I was wrong. This year I am staying at the tournament hotel which is right on the main beach. It is awesome and today after the pro am I took a water taxi with 4 of the boys across to the nearby island where we hired some snorkelling gear and spent the best part of an hour snorkelling the reef and swimming amongst hundreds and hundreds of fish. For the 20 dollars it cost me to do it, it was possibly the best 20 dollars I have spent in a very long time.
Anyway back to the golf and the tournament. Tina Golf Club is in great condition and it is playing really nicely. It is right on the water as I said so it is usually very windy. Today for the pro am it wasn't windy at all and it certainly played a little easier. I am hitting the ball well and today managed to have a few birdies amongst my pars. There are some incredible elevations around the course, so much so that you feel like you should earn some sort of mountaineering award when you simple finish the course on foot.
The highlight of my day was seeing my partner in the pro am hole his second shot on the 18th for an eagle 2 and that despite a really poor start we managed to get back to 3rd place in the pro am much to the excitement of the team. It was a fun day out there and I enjoyed doing a little teaching again!! I played nicely too which was good, plenty of birdies which is a good sign for the week ahead.
Here are some photos I have snapped so far from my week.....
