What a tough day that was. I felt like the terminator out there today. I know that sounds weird and you might be wondering what I mean. What I mean is that I feel like I was run over by a bus only to get back up and reform, then be run over by a bus again, reform and then for one final time get run over by a bus!!
I played 15 holes in 1 over today but such is the test of Shishido Hills my other three holes all had one bad shot in them, 1 out of bounds, 1 lost and 1 in the water. That meant 3 double bogies and a very tough afternoon playing this game I love! The great news is that I get to rise at around 4:15am tomorrow to head back out there and have another crack. Shishido Hills is 1-0 up on me this week and I desperately need to level the scores tomorrow if I intend being around in Japan this weekend.
The order of the day will be a massive bucket of patience and finding as many of the 14 fairways as possible as the rough is simply too think. On one hole today, the par 5 15th I missed the fairway by 4 paces. There was a spotter right there to see my ball but we walked some 250m off the tee and the spotter still hadn't found my ball despite watching it go into the rough from 20m away. Needless to say it was a horrendous lie that I could only advance with a wedge.
I am going to try and channel my inner Adam Crawford tomorrow, one of the best Friday players I know. C'mon Craw send me some of those Friday numbers you are re known for!!
Brutal sport and brutal way to make a living but I intend on having a red hot crack at it tomorrow.
