Wow wow wow! That was one of the toughest days on a golf course in a long time. Brutal winds gusting upwards of 50km/h and making them worse they were from the nth and freezing cold. Golf in the wind like that is hard at the best of times but when you have 4 layers on as well it becomes even harder. Somehow one guy shot 6 under out there on the other course, that's like shooting a 59 in my opinion such were the conditions.
I actually played really solid despite the difficulties of the day. My issues today were on the greens as I struggled to putt given the velocity of the wind. Quite simply I had 3 three putt bogies to have 4 over for the day. Everything was challenging today but hitting putts seemed the most difficult for me. At one point I had a putt from the exact same line as one of the guys I was playing with and after watching his putt go right to left with the strong wind, I aimed a little further right only to hit my putt as the wind stopped and I watched my ball break left to right........so tough!
There were still plenty of positives out there today and given that not one of the Aussies up here broke par, you know it was a very tough day. I moved backwards in the scheme of things but am still in an ok position with hopefully 4 days to go. I need a good solid day tomorrow to move in the right direction, which will be tough given slightly stronger winds predicted!! Is that possible!!
Anyway I will be giving my all and trying to enjoy the challenges out there, hoping to come out on top!
