What can I say, the frustrating year in my main tournaments is continuing. I missed the cut again here this week and the most disappointing part of it was that I actually played pretty well for the two days. As I mentioned yesterday a triple late in the round didn't help the cause as I missed the cut by 3 shots. In the second round I started well but didn't make any of my early chances for birdie before then missing makeable par putts on 3 holes in a row to go with a bogie from a bad lie in a fairway bunker on 12. No one to blame but myself as I just missed the putts!! So after being 4 over through 7 holes I was in a fair hole. ple
I dug deep and managed a great birdie on my 9th hole followed by a great next 7 holes where my longest birdie putt was probably about 20 foot. Unfortunately I had a tough mix of putts with some speed and real break over a short distance. I managed to make a couple of birdies, one of which was after a sublime 6 iron to a par 3. Wind hard off the left isn't my strength but on this occasion I hit a great draw against the wind and stuck it to about 3 feet. Nice feeling.
So despite the disappointment of missing the cut this week it is week one of a strong stretch. I am off to Royal Fremantle next week and looking forward to h
