Well despite feeling pretty good heading out today it wasn't to be for me today. I played quite well but the reality is that I didn't hit it close enough today.
I hit the ball solidly but when you are chasing a leader solid doesn't cut it. The greens were easily the fastest they have been all week today and proved a very difficult test. In saying that the guy who won managed to shoot 7 under so it was possible.
I have been struggling with my ge ever since I have started devoting huge chunks of my time to my putting which has always been my Achilles heel. Despite the fact that my putting feels like it is improving, my long game is suffering because of it. It is always a happy medium that needs to be found and that is now a massive priority heading forwards.
My day consisted of me hitting the ball just that bit too far away from the hole and when I did manage to hit it closer, I found all the side slopes making my putting quite difficult. I fought on though all day and ended up tied for 11th. I am reasonably happy with this as I have come here with no golf under my belt in the previous two weeks.
This week was a great lead up into next weeks Perth International at Lake Karrinyup. It was always a but of a warm up event for me and to be able to see what is in shape and what isn't going into next week. I have certainly got things to work on and I think the short game area is going to get a serious workout in the next few days.
Thanks for following along as usual and I hope to bring you more good news from the Perth International this week!!
