Well Monday has rolled around and my season is forced to get underway! I was thoroughly enjoying my time off and of course giving my foot injury the time it needed to heal. I have loved being around home the past two weeks for my daughters first two weeks of school and also to celebrate birthdays for both of my boys! What a blessing they are to me! Of course it has also been great to be able to share all of that with my gorgeous wife Rach, something we have loved being able to do together.
All good things must come to an end and because there are no other significant life events until I turn 40 in late June, I have been booted out to go and earn a dollar or two.
This week sees me up in Toowoomba for the Qld PGA. Always a pleasure to drive up Darren Lockyer Way and arrive up on top of the range to the awesome people up here. This place always feels like home to me with the awesome Britnall family still running the show here in Tbar and of course reuniting with the PGA Tour staff and my home away from home up here with the Allpass family!! Everything suggests a great week and some great golf!
I played 12 holes today on my sore foot for the first time walking and playing this year. I managed 12 holes but certainly 18 and then another 54 will be very testing. It will require some good management of it each night but that is something I did at the back end of last year anyway.
The course is looking good and I reckon the greens are a little quicker than the past couple of years. The key here is fairway finding as this course is heavily treed and it's very tough to find the greens from the trees. I am looking forward to the week and tomorrow I play the pro am with a couple of rugby league boys who love their golf.
Stay tuned for more stories and updates from on top of the range....by the way the ball goes a fair bit further up here due to the altitude!!
