A change of schedule this week sees me in WA instead of China. After the events in New Caledonia where I had some kidney issues, Rach and I decided that China wasn't a place I wanted to be if my kidney issues flared up again.
So a change in schedule means that I am teeing it up this week in the WA PGA Championships at the Kalgoorlie Golf Club, Gold country. I haven't been out there before but from all reports the course is a very good one. It is designed by Graham Marsh and they were wanting it to eventually rank in the top ten in the world for desert courses. I am looking forward to playing it tomorrow. The picture to the left was sent to me today by one of the boys already there, better hit some fairways this week!! My week at home and preparation leading into this week has been somewhat average. Kidney problems early in the week meant no practice but then I did have a 2 day pro am to play on the Gold Coast at the end of the week, Friday and Saturday. I played quite well despite zero balls being hit since the previous Saturday in New Caledonia. I managed to shoot -6 for the two days and finish in a tie for 4th place. A solid result and a few dollars in the bank. The big news from last week was the finalisation of a new sponsor. Cricks Noosa and Jeep have come on board for the next 12 months. Cricks Noosa is a car dealership in Noosa and together paired with Jeep will provide me with a car to drive around for the next 12 months, a Jeep Cheroke and also they are providing me with clothes from Cutter & Buck which have their logo's on them. So if you are in the market for a new car and are thinking of buying in the Jeep, Dodge Chrysler range, give me a call and I will put you in touch with someone who can help!! I am looking forward to being a part of the up and coming car brand in Australia over the next 12 months!!! So a busy day tomorrow playing the course in Kalgoorlie early before the Pro Am. Such was my late entry into the event that I wasn't included in the pro am field. Also my late entry and change of plans meant a late arrival into Kalgoorlie and as I write this I am still not there, instead sitting in the Qantas Club in Perth. I am playing at 11:30 on the Thursday which sounds perfect to me after a solid day out there tomorrow. I look forward to bringing you the tournament news throughout the week. I will be looking for my own little piece of gold out there this week and importantly a good week of good health and pre
