I find myself in Japan at a time where I should be on a high coming off a career best performance at the Masters. Unfortunately I have had a horrible time since the Masters. I woke Monday morning with a kidney stone and was taken to hospital in an ambulance where I had surgery on Tuesday afternoon. I am massively struggling to even walk around for an hour let alone get around the course for 6 days straight at this marathon.
Today was a practice day and I have to say I struggled to get through the day even with the use of the cart. My kidney was hurting badly by the end and my bladder and stomach had reached the point where I was very uncomfortable. An afternoon in bed has helped but I'm not sure I can sustain that all week. I have had to pull out of the practice round on the second course tomorrow in the hope an extra day resting will be massive for me in te long run.
As far as the course goes, there are two and the both have lots of elevation and fast sloped greens, fairly typical for Japan. I would normally post some photos but didn't really take any today for the exception of the one above with me freezing in it!! The temp today was 13 but due to the wind chill the weather station said it played more like 4 degrees!!! Brrrrrrrr
Hopefully some better news on the health front to report when I blog again after round one on Thursday!! For those praying for me, thanks and if possible please keep at it, I need all the help I can get this week!!
