Well unfortunately I spent 7 hrs at the course waiting to get a start without any luck. I could have played the challenge tour event for $120000 but chose to wait it out being first alternate and try to get into the $1.5million dollar event instead. I think it was the right decision as I would have been kicking myself if I hadn't done it and my number came up!!
So the last couple of days have been spent trying to recover from the flu that my beautiful daughter handed to me as I left for Japan and also some time spent practicing for next week. The tough decisions keep coming as I have another one ahead of me. It looks like I will be close again to getting into the $1.8million dollar event next week whilst having a definite start on the sunshine tour in Yeppoon for $100000. I will go to the course tomorrow to find out the numbers to see if the decision gets made for me. I am looking close again but it would certainly be nice to get a start straight up rather than having to make a decision to wait and see again. Next weeks tournament is on one of the best courses of the year apparently but it is incredibly tough. I heard from one of the guys today that Peter McWhinney finished in the top ten of this tournament some years back with a score of 28over par. I don't know how accurate that info is but in looking at the course online it looks brutal!! I look forward to the challenge of playing it and certainly hope that I get the opportunity to do that. I am hitting the ball well in practice and feel like things are going well, just need an opportunity to perform. I have been practicing the last few days and there have been big crowds out at the course and on the range. It is so good to hit balls and get used to that feeling of people watching so the week hasn't been a complete waste of time. It is a bit of a circus for Ryo Ishikawa though I have to say and he handles it incredibly well. Today I was on the putting green practicing when all of a sudden the spectator numbers grew enormously. I looked over and there was Ryo on the 9th green. It is crazy how many people watch him, not unlike the Norman and Woods crowds I reckon! Anyway it is good to practice in front of that many people, they just love there golf and love watching!! See you with some news in a cou
