We were met with a glorious day today, in fact it was the best weather I have seen in Korea this year. It reminded me of a winters day back in Brisbane without a cloud in the sky. I woke feeling a little average this morning but after some stretching and a good warm up I felt better and ready to play.
Things didn't start that well however when my tee shot down the first hole ended up in a very wet area, not wet enough to get a free drop but heavy wet ground. I thought I hit a pretty good 2nd shot but it came up about a yard short of the green in the rough. Once again I thought I had hit a good chip but the greens were a lot faster than the putting greens today and it ran past by around 5 feet. I missed it coming back for a bogey start. Not the best start but also not the end of the world, long way to go. I then proceeded to play some of my best golf from tee to green that I have for a very long time, possibly ever in a big event. I hit the next 15 greens in regulation and didn't just hit them but had very good chances for birdie on probably half of them. Unfortunately the putter wasn't along for the ride today and at the end of that run of holes, I walked off the 16th green at 2 over. Very frustrating given how I was hitting the ball. The positive news was that even though I missed the last two greens, in tough spots, I managed to get them both up and down for a 2 over 74. Walking off the course I kind of thought that wasn't going to be very good. The course didn't feel that hard today, maybe just because I played so well it felt that way. It was obviously a little difficult out there as I ended up in a tie for 68th position which is only just outside the top 60 that make the cut. I have plenty to do tomorrow but I did spend some serious time on the putting green this afternoon and I intend on making some putts tomorrow. I am hitting the ball very well so just need that to continue and hole a couple of putts and all should be good. For the record, that photo is a shot taken from the hotel room looking down onto the course below earlier tonight. They have quite a few holes floodlit and it looks awesome when the lights go on
