The trip up to here was a tiresome one, leaving at midnight on Sunday night and arriving at our hotel around 6pm local time meaning the travel time was about 19hrs given the time difference to Brisbane. One thing I will say is that the airports in both Singapore and Seoul are enormous and quite spectacular buildings. I think you could run a marathon inside the Singapore airport without going outside!!!
I had my first and only practice round today at the course. They do things differently here in Japan, I am here to play the event for a million bucks and yet they charge me for a practice round....Would like to see if they would charge Rory, or Luke Donald etc if they were here!! Anyway the course was ok. Not in super condition for this time of year coming out of the winter but still it was fair. It is a very hilly golf course and will certainly be a very solid walk for four days and especially for my caddy, Brent Crooks!! I reckon as a Geelong fan he will be a little soft and I expect that I might hear some chatter about how tough it is by the end of the week!!! He looks solid in the photo below but hey it's only day one!!
The greens will be the greatest challenge this week I think as they are incredibly sloped from back to front and have some serious speed. Watch the video I got Brent to film from the 9th green today. It was amazing to watch a ball roll 1 revolution at a time for as far as it went. There were plenty of greens like it so I will just have to get the distances right to start with to make sure we are under the hole all the time. Anyway that is probably enough for tonight, enjoy the photos below and of course the video too!! Have fun everyone and if you are heading out for a game, play well and enjoy it!!!
