I arrived on the coast today for a practice round with my good mate Barry McDonald caddying for the practice days. It is such a buzz having Baz here as he has been a great supporter and friend to me with my golf for many years. He has been in Haiti for the past 12 months helping restore the place after the devastating earthquake back in January 2010. He just happens to be home at the moment taking a well earned break so it was the perfect opportunity for him to experience the buzz of being inside the ropes!!
We had a great day today, it was really quiet so it was awesome to just cruise around the course and try and learn the new holes. The greens are firm and pretty fast for Qld, certainly the down wind holes are going to be tough to hold the ball on the greens. The new holes were interesting and the greens are tough, but I will play them again tomorrow and hopefully have them down pat for Thursday. With rain predicted for later in the week, Baz has the best of the caddying duties this week and the real hard work with bad weather will kick in later in the week....bad luck Dave!!
