I had a good break from my clubs with 6wks off. Normally I wouldn't have that much time off but my wife Rach went to Haiti for two weeks to support the www.runforlifehaiti.org cause, being on the support team for Barry as he ran his way across Haiti to help raise maternal awareness in a country where there is an extremely high death rate post birth for mums and bubs. It is an incredible task ahead of Barry as he tries to raise $800000 to build a new maternity centre. So far they have raised an awesome $240000 but still need a lot more obviously. Check out their website to make a donation if you can, it would be much appreciated!!
With Rachy back I have been back into my practice for the past week leading into this weeks event. I have some new gear which needed some testing so spent an hour on Trackman at Indooroopilly Golf Club with Lee Eagleton. Trackman is an unbelievable machine and from the two hrs I have spent on it this week I can see the massive benefit in having one at my disposal full time. The data they produce is incredible I want one!!! If there is anyone out there that wants to sponsor me one please let me know!!
My practice has been really good this week and I have thoroughly enjoyed being back out there hitting, pitching, chipping and putting golf balls. It is such a privilege for me to be able to do this for a job so I make sure that I am enjoying myself every day I am out there. I had my first lesson for the year with Kevin Healey on Friday which was great. Great to catch up with him, great to get some much needed instruction early in my year and great to have things confirmed that it is all looking good already this year. I am certainly feeling good and confident so looking forward to the year ahead. I will update you on the course in Toowoomba after the pro am on Tuesday. Looking forward to keeping you inside the ropes and my head throughout the season!!!
